AGM 2019

Thank you to those of you who came to our AGM.  We’re delighted to welcome new members, Frances and Trudie, to the Committee.  We look forward to them getting involved with the Village Hall, and joining us in The Boars for a drink after meetings.

We had to say goodbye to two of our hardest working Committee members at the meeting.  Lesley Gowers has been our brilliant secretary for a long time now – somehow, she’s always managed to produce the minutes for a meeting by the end of that same evening – but she’s also been a stalwart helper at all our events.

Martyn Lemon has been a committee member for more years than we can remember, and Chair for many of those.  He’s worked tirelessly for the Village Hall throughout that time, dealing with whatever arises from organising children’s races at the Fete to transporting vats of curry for Curry Night to overseeing the major remedial works this year.

Thank you both for all you’ve done – we’ll miss your hard work and your company.

Thank Yous

The Committee has worked really hard to get the Hall back in working order as quickly as possible, but most of the work has been done by Martyn, Lyn and Sue.  We would like to thank them for all their labours on behalf of the Committee, and the village.  They have devoted many, many hours to the restoration, and we’re very grateful.

Caroline, Helen and Sue have coordinated the refurbishment of the committee room, which looks fabulous, so we’d like to thank them, too.  The existing chairs are really good quality so we’re going to retain them, but an upholstery session is planned, under Sue’s capable supervision, to give them a modern twist – let us know if you’d like to join in.
